Vehicle Description
Known as "Cashmere," this custom Resto-Mod 1957 Continental Mark II
is powered by a Ford 5.0-liter Coyote engine equipped with an
Edelbrock Victor II EFI manifold. The engine is mated to a
Performance Automatic 4R70W Street Smart 4-speed automatic
transmission with a Simple Shift transmission control system
operated using a Mastershift push-button head unit. The build
started with a California car and was designed and modified by the
acclaimed Havasu Speed. The original frame rails were boxed and
melded with a newly designed front clip from Jim Meyer Enterprises.
The full front and rear independent suspension were designed by
Kugel Komponents to support the weight of a larger car
(approximately 4,900 pounds). The power braking system has Wilwood
6-piston calipers clamping on 13-inch drilled and slotted rotors.
The undercarriage is completely powder-coated in two-tone colors
and sports a center section belly pan for a completely clean look.
The 19-inch wheels were cut by Colorado Custom with 19x9 fronts and
19x9.5 rears. This custom Continental's smooth ride is courtesy of
a RideTech air-ride suspension system controlled by AccuAir
management. Subtle body modifications include the roof chopped by
1.75 inches, front headlight fenders shortened by .375 inches, rear
decklid spare tire hump shortened by 2.75 inches and sectioned by 2
inches, custom door handles designed to follow the side body line,
and the front bumper completely redesigned, shortened and tucked
into the car's body. The Dark Cashmere paint (a Bentley color) was
provided by Sickens. Premier Street Rod of Lake Havasu, AZ, did the
body prep and paint. Audio was provided and installed by KICKER.
The all-leather interior was designed by Ron Mangus Interiors with
the dashboard designed by the owner. Gauges were done by Classic
Instruments with custom logos approved by Ford. Other features
include power rack & pinion steering, air conditioning and power
windows. Accolades include the inaugural Sam Foose Memorial Design
Award presented by Chip Foose at the 2020 LA Roadster Show, Al
Slonaker Achievement Award and Al Slonaker Outstanding Interior at
the 2020 LA Roadster Show, Goodguys Del Mar First Place Custom Rod,
