Vehicle Description
This is a fully built, supercharged 4-wheel-drive 1971 Chevrolet K5
CST Blazer created by Hogan Built as #11 and called "Blink." This
Blazer has just 1,270 miles since completion and has been
completely sandblasted, with metalwork and bodywork that shows the
result of a concours-worthy refinish. After all this body spa
treatment, it was slathered in a PPG Chevrolet Black and Ice White
two-tone paint job. Hand-laid pinstriped moldings can be found on
the emblems and tailgate to accent its interior. A set of 17-inch
KMC Machete wheels comes wrapped with 35-inch BFG All-Terrain
rubber. The fiberglass top has been completely redone, gel-coated,
retextured and then refinished in factory Satin. The top rear hatch
has been upgraded with rear gas shocks, all precision
weatherstripping and new glass. The inside of the top has been
trimmed for the floating star headliner with backlighting. This K5
sits on a Roadster Shop RS4 spec chassis, in gloss graphite powder
coat and features Currie high-pinion axles, Fox 2.5 coilover shocks
with hydraulic bump stops, dual sway bars and a 4-linked front and
rear suspension. The chassis is finished off with a fully polished
3-inch TIG-welded polished stainless-steel exhaust completed with
MagnaFlow mufflers. Stopping power is provided by 4-wheel disc
brakes that come backed by Wilwood hydro-boost. Powering this beast
is a Whipple-supercharged 6.2-liter V8 LS3 engine backed by a
Hughes 4L80E automatic transmission and equipped with an advanced
adapter to support the NP205 transfer case. The LS3 aluminum block
is refinished in Inferno Orange, featuring a 2.9-liter Whipple
blower and custom DeWitt's aluminum radiator completed with
stainless-steel lines and hoses. A custom air intake forces cool
air into the engine, and it features vintage Chevrolet valve covers
with hidden coil pack adapter plates. Keeping the quench for thirst
fulfilled is a Roadster Shop fuel cell with dual Walbro fuel pumps.
The body also features a hidden side marker gas filler. The
interior features factory front bucket seats and a bench spanning
the rear using Snowden foam covered in black leather, white
stitching and "cloud" inserts. Additional features include white
Classic Instruments gauges, a 15-inch original-style steering
wheel, and a new tilt steering column, as well as a TIG-welded roll
cage color-matched to the frame. The interior is cooled by a new
Vintage Air climate-control system. The stereo is powered by a
RetroSound head unit with custom-made speaker panels that hold four
Infinity Cappa 6.5-inch speakers, two Infinity Cappa subwoofers,
and Alpine 600x4 and 1000x1 amplifiers. To tie this all together,
the body, chassis and engine are wired with American Autowire
harnesses.
