Vehicle Description
This 1927 Ford Lakester build started with an Old Dog Street Rods
body and perimeter frame. It is powered by a Nick Arias Jr. Merlin
540ci hemispherical-head Chevrolet engine with an 8-71 polished
Stage 1 BDS blower fed by six Stromberg 97 carburetors. The 6-speed
TREMEC transmission is mated to a Speedway bell-housing
transferring power through a McLeod race clutch to a polished
Winter's quick change rear-end setup by Dutchman Motorsports.
Stopping is accomplished using Wilwood disc brakes, with Cragar
polished wheels in front and Mickey Thompson's in back, wrapped
with Hoosier tires. Fuel is contained in three separate vessels fed
by a Harley-Davidson-inspired tank mounted behind the custom roll
bar with a total fuel capacity of 18 gallons. Every fastener and
part are painted, chromed or polished. The exhaust was designed and
built using a Lakes cone-type header and Bologna cut mufflers.
Suspension uses a Model A high-arch spring in the rear and a
custom-built four-bar setup with a Panhard bar. The front
suspension uses a low-arch spring with stabilizer bar, along with a
Magnum 5.5-inch dropped and drilled axle. Friction shocks and a
single ride-height adjustable air bag complete the setup. Model A
taillights and fluted headlights add character to the flamed paint
job and matching interior. The interior features an AutoMeter
odometer and Steward-Warner gauges. With the sale comes a full
array of build pictures and receipts for most parts. **TITLED AS
