This 1970 Chevrolet K5 Blazer custom is the product of over 1,500
hours invested in a complete frame-off build. The body was stripped
from top to bottom and all metalwork was completed and epoxy
primed. U-Pol Raptor protective coating was applied to the floor.
Dynamat insulation on the inside floor provides additional sound
and heat control. The entire body, including the underside, is
finished with AXALTA urethane paint. The frame, radiator support,
inner fenders and axles are finished with a powder-coat. This
Blazer is powered by a new GM LS3 430hp engine mated to a 4L75E
automatic overdrive transmission with the original NP-205 transfer
case. Upgrades include a stainless-steel exhaust system, complete
with polished headers, a Holley Sniper intake and a polished
front-runner system by Vintage Air. The engine is cooled by a
DeWitts aluminum radiator. The fuel tank is stainless steel from
Rick's Hot Rods and includes a new, original GM fuel pump. The
vehicle was upgraded with NOS front and rear axles from GM,
featuring disc brakes on the front axle and GM posi-traction on the
rear axle. This Blazer rides on a 4-inch lift kit, complete with
Fox shocks and all new leaf springs, with 11 leaves per spring for
a softer ride. Power steps have been installed. Riding on Goodyear
tires mounted on Mickey Thompson wheels, with the braking handled
by a Hydro-Vac brake booster system. Upgrades include a
powder-coated custom steel roll bar with shoulder harness seat
belts and a removable hardtop for an all-season ride. The interior
includes all-new upholstery, carpet and weatherstripping. The
comfort is handled by a Vintage Air system. The dashboard includes
a Dakota Digital RTX instrument cluster and a reproduction AM/FM
stereo. For safety, LED headlights and taillights were installed.
For comfort, this ride includes an Ididit tilt steering column.
