Vehicle Description
This 1969 Shelby GT500 was ordered by Shelby Automotive Company
Marketing Office on January 2, 1969, under Special Order #2563 with
a 428ci Cobra Jet Ram Air V8 engine paired with a C6 Cruise-O-Matic
automatic transmission. The engine bay has been professionally
detailed to factory specs using correct hoses and clamps, and the
undercarriage received the same treatment, right down to the
red-oxide floor pans, red-oxide differential third member and
refinished suspension components with replicated assembly-line
crayon markings. In addition, the car was ordered with a 3.50
Traction-Lok differential, fold-down rear seat, power front disc
brakes, power steering, tilt-away steering wheel, AM/FM stereo
radio, tinted glass, factory tachometer and gauges. It has been
refinished in its original color of Royal Maroon, which has been
cut and polished to a glass-like finish. The interior has been
restored to its original configuration of white Clarion knit and
Corinthian vinyl bucket seats with black carpeting, a black dash,
and wood-grain door panel and dash inserts.
