Vehicle Description
This is John D'Agostino's Crystal Award-winning "Kustom" 1967
Auburn Speedster known as "The Phantom." John D'Agostino of
Celebrity Kustoms co-designed this second-generation boattail
Auburn, which was the third of the second-generation Auburns made
in 1967, so the Auburn Speedster was born again. It was
custom-built by D'Agostino and Anders Jacobsson and features an
all-leather European interior with Mercedes carpet. It is a chopped
top with a removable soft-top using Mercedes canvas. Finished in
PPG custom paint, it is powered by a rebuilt Chevrolet 327ci V8
engine with factory GM Tri-Power carburetors. It uses air-ride
suspension and sits on custom wheels and custom fender skirts with
custom chrome trim. It has been shown and won awards at the
European Car Show, at the Oslo Motor Show in Norway and in
Bilsport, Sweden. It was also shown at the Grand National Roadster
Show. It was a feature car at the Concours on Rodeo Drive in
Beverly Hills, CA, and has won the Crystal Award of Excellence for
outstanding design and workmanship. This Auburn was the feature
"Kustom" at the 2023 Hollywood Christmas Parade that cruised along
Hollywood Boulevard (Walk of Fame) with a well-known celebrity.
