This 1990 Chevrolet 454 SS pickup, originally delivered to an
Ontario dealership, entered the registration fold in 2002. Acquired
in July 2022 by the current owner from the original purchasing
family, the 454 SS journeyed from its roots to Vancouver, Canada.
Clad in an Onyx Black exterior with red cloth upholstery, this
truck is propelled by a 7.4-liter V8 coupled with a 3-speed
automatic transmission and a 3.73:1 locking rear differential. The
7.4-liter V8 engine, equipped with electronic fuel injection,
features an aftermarket oil-type air filter element and a JET
Performance ECU chip. The exhaust system has been enhanced with a
GM-style crossover pipe and a Flowmaster 3-inch American Thunder
exhaust system. In preparation for the sale, the fuel pump was
replaced, according to the seller. Power is directed to the rear
wheels via a 3-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission and a
locking rear differential with a 3.73:1 axle ratio. Notable
features include 15-inch six-hole wheels, fog lights, Bilstein
shocks, an aftermarket exhaust system, a sliding rear window, air
conditioning, cruise control and a factory Delco AM/FM stereo. The
short-bed regular cab showcases silver and red Chevrolet and 454 SS
decals, complemented by a front-air dam with fog lights, plastic
side moldings, body-color mirrors and a sliding rear window. The
seller notes yellowing on the factory vinyl tape behind the tires
and in front of the bed, along with rock chips on the lower
bodywork. Chrome 15-inch wheels with black hubcaps are shod with
BFGoodrich tires. Braking duties are handled by power-assisted
front discs and rear drums, with rear brake cylinder replacements
in May 2022. The Performance Handling Package, standard on all 454
SS models, includes a front sway bar, quick-ratio steering and
Bilstein gas shocks. Inside, the cabin features high-back bucket
seats in Garnet Red cloth upholstery with striped inserts,
extending to matching accents on the door panels. Creature comforts
include cruise control, air conditioning, power windows and locks,
a factory Delco AM/FM stereo with a cassette player and graphic
equalizer, a locking center console and embroidered floor mats. The
tilting steering column hosts a four-spoke steering wheel framing a
140-km/h speedometer and auxiliary gauges. CARFAX shows a clean
history, devoid of accidents or damage, documenting the truck's
Canadian history. 14,875 kilometers/9,242 miles (title reads
exempt).
