Vehicle Description
Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 25th year in the
classic and muscle car business. The Pontiac Star Chief is a model
manufactured by Pontiac from 1954 to 1966. Until 1957 the Star
Chief was Pontiac's range-topping prestige model, and for the first
time the car used the longer 123.5 wheelbase enjoyed by the Olds
and Buick divisions of GM. And in 1955 Pontiac debuted their new
Strato Streak V8, enlarged versions of which would power legendary
Ponchos for decades to come. This stunning 1956 Pontiac Star Chief
Convertible Coupe is a beautiful example of these top-shelf
cruisers. Lift the sculpted hood, replete with twin Silver Streaks,
and you'll find the 317 ci version of Pontiac's excellent V8
engine. Additional features include a power seat, power top, front
disc brakes, air conditioning, Hydramatic automatic transmission,
correct paint and trim codes (GP, 285), a beautiful stainless steel
dual exhaust system, AM radio, and beautiful Kelsey-Hayes-type wire
wheels wrapped with Coker Classic radial tires (215/75R15). This
magnificent machine is in outstanding condition, particularly the
show-quality chassis, as can be clearly seen in the images. As it
is one of only 13,510 '56 Star Chief Convertibles, exclusivity is
virtually guaranteed. This jewel just oozes with charm from every
angle, attracting attention like Lady Godiva! Another rare gem from
the Texas Hill country's premier source for classic cars and the
team that can make your dream a reality. Street Dreams
