For Sale: 1989 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am SE in San Antonio, Texas

Vehicle Description

For a single run in 1987, General Motors engineers produced and released 547 of the most legendary street cars in automotive history, the venerable Buick Grand National Experimental (GNX). Utilizing a specially modified Buick Turbo V6, this legendary beast managed to post 0-60 times that crushed those of modern performance cars of the era, including the Ferrari Testarossa and the Lamborghini Countach LP 500s! That legendary engine was retired, never to be used again, until 1989, when Pontiac resurrected that historic engine to power the 1,555 1989 20th Anniversary Turbo Trans Ams made in this limited, one-year run. Both lighter and faster than the Buick GNX This little-known project produced, according to Car and Driver, the fastest production car of the 80s that, still, nearly no one knows about!

For Sale is Turbo Trans Am #547.

KNOWN ISSUES: The vehicle has areas where the paint job was not finished. The areas, circled in orange in the photos, will need to be professionally finished. There are some mild instances of mild overspray. The jack points on both driver and passenger side are bent and have some surface rust (common with f-bodies). This mildly, but visibly affects the alignment of the front quarter panels and hood. The current headliner board is a temporary ABS headliner board covered in the correct color cloth, but not professionally. I’ve included an original 3rd Gen F-Body T-Top board in the auction to continue restoring the headliner. The far-right equalizer slider knob’s tip does not illuminate like the others, The rear decklid needs to be adjusted towards the body by about ½”, Hood and Front Quarter panels not perfectly aligned due to bent jack points, Interior Trim - The plastic hinge for the trunk's storage compartment shows stress whitening.
