Vehicle Description
1992 Mazda Miata MX-5
Once upon a time, sports cars roamed the earth, and they were
hyperhip. No one back then would have believed a sports car could
have the "start every day till six digits show on the odometer"
reliability that we take for granted today, along with ache-free
seats, toasty heaters, and side glass that rises at the touch of a
button. Yet those imagined sports cars were to be exactly like this
Miata-crazy fun to drive, frisky and zingy and quick to the touch.
A sports car must have this essential zest, and the Miata captures
it better than anything else on the road. -Thx to Car and
Driver
For consignment, a 1992 Miata in MX-5 trimmings with a mere 73,407
title verified actual miles. Hidden head lighting, a removable hard
top and plenty of pure unadulterated fun, with some luxury touches
thrown in. That being broadcloth seats, AC, cruise control, power
brakes, power steering and a limited slip differential. And it
starts up without effort reliably, also BONUS..it's a BLAST to
drive!
Note: This vehicle is sold with a Pennsylvania reconstructed
branding on the title
Exterior
Original factory Classic Red bathes the straight aligned, curvy
steel sculpted aero design exterior. The gaps are well minded, and
there is a black fiberglass accessory colored hard top to put on or
off depending on your mood. If desired you can go topless, or lift
the black canvas top. These tops are both in excellent condition,
however the paint does show some color fade, various chip offs and
poorly repaired invasive rust at the bottom of both front quarters.
Below the hidden headlights is an oval air dam in front covered by
a black bra. All nicely rounded over corners to carve road corners
with style and speed. Hold on to the Jesus bar! Curved oval rounded
tail lighting melts into the bodywork on back, and nearly invisible
rear bumper rides below. Sporty 7 spoke alloy wheels are in all 4
corners. Snappy!
Interior
Smoothly sculpted door panels are black leather textured vinyl with
molded armrest, inset actuators and a black window crank. High back
black and gray horizontal pattern broadcloth chairs have a center
console dividing them, and this eventually rises to the dash where
we blow fast the shift lever climate controls and kick ass stereo
system with a factory AM/FM/Cassette. A black dash top houses round
vents and a curved padded oval instrument panel in front of the
driver. Dash lowers have some black accenting which is mildly
textured. Black carpeting floods the floors. A fair amount of
sawdust is noted throughout the interior, but nothing a good
detailing can remedy. The zipper for the back window of the
convertible top is broken.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is a peppy 1.6 L 4 cylinder mill. This sports EFI
and a 4-speed automatic transmission to go through the gears
without a clutch to worry about. On the back is a 4.30
differential. Some light corrosion is on the engine affecting the
aluminum cast parts on the top end.
Undercarriage
Some surface rust is on the wishbones and just a bit of it exists
before and aft of the wheel wells on the rocker area. Independent
coil spring suspension is on all 4 corners as are power disc
brakes.
Drive-Ability
It runs and stops great with all working. There, I gave it to you
straight which is something this car does but would prefer to do
otherwise! All functions work swimmingly.
A reliable Japanese sports car with the option of go topless,
canvas top, or fiberglass hard top. How do you like to carve your
curves? All bathed in racin' red and looking like a little hopped
up aero jelly bean. Lovely!
