1965 Citroen Acadiane Van / Light Truck
VIN AYCD06CD4600 Clear WA State Title and comprehensive Canadian import and export documentation and history. Description: Our stylish Citroen Acadiane style light pickup/van is very rare in N. America. This vehicle is a “roller”, sold without engine or transmission, has a very straight, original body and very good condition, long wheelbase, heavier duty chassis than the Mehari or 2CVs. Included in the sale are following spares: 1 Front fender, 1 side storage compartment door, spare tire and wheel, and other parts shown in photos. Not shown, but included are 2 grey soft Mazda3 bucket seats and rear bench seat, but not installed. Front bumper included but does have rust through in spots. Floors have rust through and a previous owner applied fiberglass repair to the front floorpans. The body is very straight, with surface rust and some rust through present in the body, including A pillars, side window opening, etc. Interior truck bed has surface rust, but structurally is very solid. This Van would be a good candidate for a Japanese front wheel drive swap such as Honda Civic, etc. The Van rolls and steers easily and we can help arrange shipping anywhere. If needed, we may be able to supply a 1970 Mehari 60Xcc complete engine with the cylinder heads removed, at additional cost. This rare French van has lots of potential.
About the Acadiane Model: The Acadiane s a small commercial vehicle derived from the Dyane and only available in left-hand drive. The Acadiane differed from the Dyane on which it was based in having heavier-duty suspension, a slightly altered chassis and a rear-brake limiter whose action was dependent on the load. The Acadiane was also fitted with wind-down windows in the driver's and passenger's doors. The payload was approximately 500 kg (1,100 lb), but handling was impaired when fully loaded. The Acadiane was available in commercial (two-seater) form or as a "Mixte", with sliding rear windows and a removable rear bench seat. Citroën and many other manufacturers continue to this day (Berlingo et al.) with the option of rear seats in a vehicle clearly designed as a commercial. The Mixte version also had a passenger sun visor, missing in the more basic commercial version. In line with many Citroën light commercials, the roof of the rear bodywork was corrugated to add extra rigidity at little cost.
