Gateway Classic Cars Houston Showroom deep blue 1966 Shelby Cobra
replica. A potent "full roller" 385 HP Ford Motorsport 351W HO V8
crate engine, mated to a crisp-shifting BW "World Class" T5
(5-speed) manual transmission provides the go, while its 4-wheel
disc brakes get this beast back to legal speeds quickly. The rear
end features 31-spline Moser axles with C-clip eliminators, Auburn
limited slip diff, and 3.73:1 gears, which combine to provide a
great balance of both quick acceleration with palatable RPM at
interstate speeds. The 351 is fed by its Edelbrock 4BBL carb atop
the high-rise aluminum intake; while headers funnel the exhaust
into the matte black side pipes, providing that great throaty sound
that the early Cobras were famous for. A big aluminum radiator with
twin electric fans helps keep the mill in proper operating temps. A
full set of VDO gauges help the driver monitor critical operating
functions. Fast is a complete understatement: with little to no
weight and a potent V8 up front, this thing is a rocket, and this
rocket has only covered a tick over 9500 miles since it was built,
so it's broken in but not worn out. A custom set of Compomotive
aluminum wheels are shod with some very sticky BF Goodrich G-Force
Sport Comp2 radials, 225/50ZR16 up front, and 255/50ZR16s out back.
Inside, you'll find a spartan black interior, with synthetic
leather seating and RJS Racing harnesses to keep occupants in their
places. This car gives you the feeling of driving a real Cobra, but
without the 6- to 7-figure price tag. When you're behind the wheel
of a Cobra, it's just you, the car and the road ahead. Give our
Houston showroom a call or send us an email to learn more about
this one! Whether you're looking for a cruiser, track day car, show
car or something fun, this is the car!
