Reportedly the original owner died and his son inherited and parked the car for some 30+years in his climate controlled garage. When the son died his family sold the car, with reportedly some 26K original miles, to their mechanic who serviced and consequently sold the car to only its now third ever southern California owner and we recently acquired the car directly from this third owner. The car has a correct two stage repaint in tis original 'Cotillion White' color and the original vinyl roof was replaced with a White correct grain vinyl roof in place of the original Gold vinyl roof. The original fabric was reupholstered in the correct SMS reproduction fabric, both front and rear seats, along with the seat foam with correct dense foam. The door panels, rear quarter panels, back of the front seats and headliner are all original. The dash is also original and in virtually perfect condition. There's no better example of GM's styling and engineering prowess than the 1969 Cadillac Coupe De Ville with elegant interiors of Sierra-grain leather and fine Cadillac luxuries! These cars bristled with the latest in modern appointments and had few rivals in the luxury market and were purchased only by the very privileged few.The all new 472/375HP V8 engine with 525 foot pounds of torque was introduced in 1968, it was the biggest and smoothest engine built by Cadillac to date and it proved unsurpassed in the industry as the largest engine ever put in a production passenger motor car and provided both sparkling acceleration, yet also quiet and effortless highway cruising, almost like having two engines! The car was also redesigned to match its modern engine with a new grille with finely spaced horizontal grille bars and distinct parking and headlamp lights. This particular car oozes pride of ownership with the the floor boards, trunk and all the typical rust-prone areas being solid and rust-free and the car has no signs of any accidents. The 472/375HP 4 barrel V8 engine is extremely strong and powerful and this particular car drives magnificently - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver!
