GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this 1960 Chevrolet Corvette
for your consideration! This head-
turning classic is powered by a 350ci V8 motor that routes power to
the rear wheels through a strong 4-speed manual transmission. This
motor comes fitted with Edelbrock valve covers enhancing the
under-
hood appeal.
The exterior is finished in a beautiful color combination of Roman
Red exterior with an Ermine White
body cove. The black leather interior is in great condition and
appears to be in a highly original
configuration. The floor-mounted shifter moves through the gears
with ease and all factory gauges are in
working condition. These vehicles have a unique gauge cluster
set-up with a centrally mounted
tachometer with the speedometer mounted above. This design allows
the driver to see all vital
information right in their line of sight speaking to the
performance-oriented nature of the model.
The first generation of Corvette was introduced late in the 1953
model year. Originally designed as a
show car for the 1953 Motorama display at the New York Auto Show,
it generated enough interest to
induce GM to make a production version to sell to the public. This
generation was often referred to as
the "solid-axle" models (the independent rear suspension was not
introduced until the second
generation). Three hundred hand-built polo white Corvette
convertibles were produced for the 1953
model year. The 1959-60 model years had few changes except a
decreased amount of body chrome and
