This car has a great story. It was headed to scrap in 1982 when my father rescued it. I was 10 years old. The restoration has been a lifelong project and labor of love. I am the second generation owner and built every nut and bolt of this car with my dad from 1982 until 2008 when I took title to it.
Paint is custom, 21 coat Ditzler acrylic hand rubbed white with a gray cove. All chrome was redone and the car has been garage kept under cover and on a lift in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and now in South Carolina. Driven roughly 8-10 hours/year cruise and show. Never raced except stop light to stop light.
The motor was custom built in 1991 by Mikes Performance in Tabernacle, NJ. 4 bolt small block chevy bored .030 over for 355cu in. Block is cast iron. Forged crank, rods and pistons. Balanced rotating assembly. Heads are cast iron Dart 2.02 ported and bowled. Rockers are Comp Cams 1.6 roller rockers, springs, and retainers working Manley Pro Flow valves. Cam is a Crane .292 solid lifter cam and double roller timing chain/gear. Fire is provided by MSD 6 Ignition w blaster 2 coil, Petronox flamethrower rotor replacement, Accell performance distributor cap with 8MM wires. Intake is through Edelbrock Street Avenger dual quad setup supplied by a Holley fuel pump. Exhaust is handled by Hooker headers and custom stainless exhaust from the collectors through the bumpers. Transmission is original T-10 4 speed to a 4.11 positraction rear. Estimated 435HP.
Soft top is good condition although almost never used. The car has never been rained on. Classic interior by Corvette America with retrofitted Stage 3 Tach in original location. Spare steering column, door and steel wheels.
This is a car that you never think you will sell after 41 years of ownership, but life moves on and so we must. I hope the next owner will enjoy it as much as we have. Great driver, incredible looks and when you step on it... you'd better have it pointed where you want to go.
