We have a beautiful, numbers matching 1974 Chevrolet El Camino "Spirit of America" Edition that just came in from a collection. This is a pretty rare El Camino with only a handful of Spirit of America's known to still be in existence. Chevrolet began celebrating the American Bicentennial of 1976 a couple of years early. Their initial volley of commemoration was the 1974 Spirit of America trim optionally available on Impala, Nova, and Vega coupes. There is very little information available to us on the El Camino version, but it is believed to be a factory package like the other models. This '74 is fully documented with the build sheet, sales paperwork, etc. and originally came from a dealer in Texas. All numbers on the drivetrain have been professionally verified and there are pictures provided of those. This El Camino has the 400ci small block that is backed by a TH350 3 speed automatic transmission and 10 bolt rear axle with the original 2.73 axle ratio. This '74 is equipped with power steering, power front disc brakes, air conditioning, aftermarket radio (original still in its place), and tilt wheel. There has been a lot of mechanical maintenance done to the El Camino this year 2023, here is a list of what's been done to date. New front and rear shocks, replaced shift shaft seal, replaced valve cover gasket, replaced transmission pan gasket and filter, adjusted gear selector, replaced rear drums and wheel cylinders, replaced power steering hose, adjusted steering gear, new spark plugs, replaced fuel sending unit in gas tank and fuel lines, replaced dual master cylinder and proportioning valve, replaced air conditioning compressor, and replaced the alternator. The '74 is in good driver quality condition and does show in some areas like any driven car would. The white exterior paint shows well. The blue colored interior is all original and shows well. The headliner is in good condition with no rips, holes, or sagging. All lights, gauges, switches, etc. all work as should. The underbody is in good condition and just has light surface rust that can be easily sanded away. There is no rot, soft spots, patches, etc. This is a turnkey, very collectable El Camino and just needs a new home. We have a clean and clear MN title. We have additional photos and video available.
