Vehicle Description
The 1949 and 1950 model Fords have been popular with customizers
for decades. The clean design of the "Shoebox" Ford is the perfect
canvas on which to paint, and this exceptional 1949 Ford Club Coupe
is a perfect example.
Finished in an amazing deep copper metallic, the subtle and
skillfully executed body modifications include shaved door handles,
louvered and nosed hood, and some hand-applied pinstriping done in
traditional style. The smoothed-out chrome bumpers, fender skirts,
as well as an amber fog lamp mounted in the center of the factory
"spinner" grill add even more interest to this traditional custom
car. A lowered ride height and a set of period-correct style chrome
reverse wheel wrapped with bias-ply wide white wall tires complete
the look.
Keeping with the traditional custom theme, the interior features
retro-style, two-tone, pleated vinyl upholstery with matching door
cords and seatbelts for safety. The dash is fitted with a cool
modern, retro style gauge cluster created to fit neatly in the
original location, plus a retro style radio that at a glance looks
stock. A tilt steering column with a restored factory steering
wheel and floor shifter finish the very tailored and high-quality
interior. The trunk is also trimmed to match the interior.
The engine is a hopped-up Ford flat head that has been bored and
stroked to 284 cubic inches running a Scat crank and a Schneider
camshaft. Other features include Edelbrock heads, polished Holley
intake with Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection, MSD ignition,
electric radiator fan and custom exhaust headers. Safety and
drivability are enhanced by front disc brakes. The engine bay is
highly detailed and looks fantastic. Nothing looks cooler than a
tricked-out flathead Ford.
