Exterior
An Outlaw performance '34 Chevy Tudor body with a 3" chop, smoked
glass, deep teal paint, and a touch of custom airbrushing in the
form of hues of purple for above running board art, as well as pink
curled ribbon just aft of the doors. The front of the car is
bumperless and pure sexy curves mixed with some vertical ribs for
the radiator grille. Chromed headlights flank either side and
nestle up those curvy fenders that hang off of either side,
undulate up and down and eventually meet up with the running board
that goes on to form the rear fenders. These frame polished 15-inch
American Racing Torque Thrust wheels wrapped in staggered rubber,
larger for the rear tires. The radiator topper, door handles and
rear bumper have all been eliminated and its pure teal. An open
cowled hood shows off the mill underneath the hood, and on the
back, the car has teardrop taillights on the back portion of the
curvy rear fenders. The rear roll pan also serves as the fuel tank
and just below 3 inch chrome pipes throw spent gases to the wind
and have a melodious tone.
Interior
Remotely pop open the doors and immediately you are overwhelmed
with a build quality that is second to none. Warm light gray tweed
door panels have a mix of some teal and purple accent wide chevron
designs and a matching angled tweed covered armrest. A billet
actuator is in as are power window toggles. Slipping inside you
passover perfect gray carpeting with teal and purple accented floor
mats. You can sit in tweed covered high back buckets that have
adjustments in their confines. In back is a fancy tuck and roll
patterned bench, also in tweed, and it sits between tweed vertical
coverings and a tweed headliner. Looking forward to the dash,it's
an all fiberglass jacket in teal and there is a lineup of circular
white faced chromed bezeled Classic Instruments that practically
monitor the pulse of everything. Eyeball AC vents are in and
fronting this dash is a tilt column by Ididit being topped by a
banjo styled rally steering wheel covered in teal leather. Below
the dash is a stereo with AM/FM/CD capabilities and in the
passenger's side is a fire extinguisher. A T bar shifter from
B&M reaches for the driver in the center.
Drivetrain
Peeking through the open sides of the engine bay we see a blinged
out consigner stated 420ci V8. It has a Pete Jackson gear drive,
the heads havebeen ported and polished and have undergone a 3 angle
valve job and the valves are stainless. It is topped with an
Edelbrock Victor ontake and a Holley 750cfm 4-barrel carburetor.
Polished billet aluminum bolt ons are strewn as far as the eye can
see and what isn't billet is highly polished chrome. A Ford 8.8
inch 3.55 geared rear with heavy duty axles handles all the power
sent from the engine via a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission
that sports a shift kit, has a TCI Super Streetfighter torque
converter and a B&M cooler. Jet Hot coated headers and a
Supertrapp exhaust are handling the exhale. All new Ron Francis
Wiring is on.
Undercarriage
Attracting all the attention underneath is the strong silver steel
frame and all polished attachments, again, the best of the best
here folks. A boxed steel frame provides the backbone for the body,
running boards and suspension, all pro built and looking just fab.
An independent Mustang II style front suspension is on and bringing
up the rear is a lightly polished 4 link suspension with coilovers.
We see disc brakes front and drums for the rear providing the stop
on a dime.
Drive-Ability
A pop of the door and a twist of the knob and I was in street rod
heaven. The V8 had a great rumble but not so much as to drown out
my favorite tunes. Power was more than adequate, shifting was
smooth, and braking was exceptional and bias free. One issue with
most street rods is lack of interior room and comfort, this car has
that problem solved and then some.
Very impressive, and a build you could not replicate for the price
of this gorgeous, high performance, great handling, convenience
loaded vintage looker. All wrapped up in fiberglass, deep teal and
some fancy airbrushing. A must see in person to really appreciate
this standout. All within the Hallowed Halls of Classic Auto
Mall.
