Vehicle Description
1956 GMC Suburban Carrier For Sale - One Of Only 300 Built,
Optional 316ci V8 Engine, Auto LMC is very proud to offer for sale
this 1956 GMC Suburban Carrier The Suburban Carrier was the GMC
version of the Chevrolet Cameo pickup and featured unique
fiberglass besides attached to the rear steel cargo box with a
hidden spare tire compartment behind the bumper. These styling
changes and other features truly set them apart from General
Motors' more utilitarian pickups and elevated their desirability.
Optional only to the GMC was a 316 V-8 engine that was built by
Pontiac and would become an icon unto itself by morphing through
multiple displacements via boring and stroking, and being chosen as
the legendary power plant for the Pontiac GTO. This unique
powerplant had two transmission options including a four-speed
Hydra-Matic automatic or a four-speed manual. Only 300 of these
trucks were built for 1956 making them one of the rarest classic
trucks around. Presented in the stunning color combination of Ocean
Green and Ivory, this 1956 GMC Pickup has been fitted with the
highly desirable and rare 316 CI V-8 engine and backed by a
four-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. Additional options
include power steering, radio and accessory fan. This Suburban
Carrier has been beautifully restored under previous ownership and
is ready to be enjoyed by its next caretaker. As only 300 of these
1956 examples were built, these rarely come up for sale, especially
in this condition and outfitted with these options! Additional
