Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is excited to be able to
offer this chopped 1950 Chevrolet 3100 5-Window "Big Tire" Pro-Mod
Race truck. When we hear someone say, "Too much is never enough", a
build like this 1950 5-Window comes along that makes us rethink
that statement! This is a 100% drag truck, and as it sits, is not
street legal. The motor was built by Mike Cook from Cooks Racing
Heads out of Stanton, Tx. Powered by a completely worked .30 over
steel crank 454CID V8 with Eagle "H-Beam" rods, an 8 quart Milodan
deep sump pan, roller rocker/stud girdled Brodix Heads, a Weiand
8/71 blower, a QuickFuel E-85 750cfm dual carb set up, an MSD Pro
Billet distributor and a 6 AL ignition box teamed up with a TH400
trans and a B&M shifter set up, all running into a Ford 9"
fitted with some 40-sline Moser axles & 4.56 gearing that's
twisting some monstrous 33x22.50/15 Hoosiers out back. this truck
is absolutely not for a novice driver! It also has a drive shaft
safety loop, dual fuel cells for street fuel/race fuel, dual
nitrous tanks (not hooked up presently), Q1A adjustable coil overs
on all 4 corners with a beefed front suspension & a multi-link
rear, 4-wheel disc brakes w/ drilled rotors, Auto Meter Pro Comp
Silver LFG gauges in a custom upholstered interior, a multi-point
NHRA style roll cage with roof mounted fuel/electric disconnect
handles, some RCI 4-point harnesses to keep your butt firmly
planted in the high back racing seats & a Simpson chute out back to
help bring it all to a stop. If you have nerves of steel and can
never get enough adrenaline, then you are the type of driver that
this '50 Pro Mod was built for!
