For Sale: 2011 Subaru Impreza in St. Louis, Missouri

Vehicle Description

Mitsubishi's Lancer Evolution is this car's archenemy from the 2010s; the Subaru Impreza WRX STI Limited. The one-owner WRX has resided in Florida since new and is in pristine original condition with only 6,377 miles on the clock. No known flaws with an Autocheck score of 95! (Normal score is between 43-66)

Here at MotoeXotica Classic Cars, we have this sedan dressed in World Rally Blue (code 02C). The car's paint and trim are in overall excellent order. The car's bodywork is straight and solid, the engine bay is extremely tidy, the cargo area looks great, the body-colored bumpers fit tightly to the body.

This Subie rolls on Dunlop SB Sport 600 radials, size 245/40R18 at all four corners. Each one is mounted to a factory alloy wheel. The wheels and tires are all in very good order.

Under the hood is a 2.5L flat, DOHC four-cylinder 16-valve turbocharged engine fed by Sequential Multipoint Fuel Injection (SMPFI). Denoting the STI variant of the EJ25, originally designed for the North American Impreza STI in 2004 with Single AVCS and DBW. Later years used revised block, piston, connecting rods, crankshaft and heads to further improve performance and durability. Notably, the adoption of much improved Dual-AVCS W25 cylinder heads and an improved cylinder block design.

The motor is backed up by a six-speed manual transmission (code TY856UB1KA) and all-wheel drive with a driver-controlled center differential. It also has a helical limited-slip differential in front and a Torsen limited-slip differential in back. Driver convenience features include air-conditioning, power rack-and-pinion steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, cruise control, power windows, power locks, and power sideview mirrors.

The black leather interior is in great shape, including the STI front buckets and the fold-down rear bench seats, as is the black carpet. The three-spoke steering wheel faces the driver and a console-mounted shifter easily falls to the right hand. The gauges are lit in red along with a digital odometer. There's a chromed dead pedal for the driver's left foot, the instrument panel looks good, as do the inner door panels. A factory AM/FM infotainment center rounds out the interior.

Export markets received the higher-displacement 2.5-liter EJ257 unit with the single-scroll VF48 turbocharger rated at 305 horsepower and 300 lbsft of torque. The turbocharger directs air through a larger top-mount intercooler which has lost the red "STI" that was on previous generations. The STI is heavier than the WRX due to a more robust transmission, rear differential and other chassis reinforcements.

Like the standard WRX, the third-generation model was shortened to "Subaru WRX STI," with the Japanese markets notably abstaining from this convention. To differentiate the STI from the regular WRX, Subaru opted to manufacture the STI with a wider body and therefore track-as noted by the flared wheel arches. Furthermore, Subaru utilized aluminum suspension components for the STI. Electronic modifications include a multi-mode electronic stability control with "normal" "traction," and "off" modes; Subaru Intelligent-Drive (SI-Drive) with three modes: "intelligent," "sport" and "sport sharp;" and multi-mode, driver-controlled center differential (DCCD). The DCCD is a combined mechanical and solenoid operated limited-slip differential which enables the driver to switch between manual and automated center differential locking. The locking strength can vary from fully open to fully locked with a 41/59 front/rear open torque bias.

In 2010 for the 2011 model year, the WRX STI became available as a four-door. The most noticeable feature on the STI sedan is a large rear spoiler. A facelift of the STI arrived in 2010 for the 2011 model year, distinguished by a new front bumper. Tweaks to the suspension-stiffer springs, larger anti-roll bars, new pillow ball bushings on the front lower arms, as well as wider standard tires-had the effect of improved handling.

If you are looking for a great Subaru WRX STI that reminds you of the one you had in high school or college, or the one you wish you had, come to MotoeXotica Classic Cars today to check out this low-mileage example.
