Vehicle Description
1934 Chevrolet Master 2 Door Sedan
In the hot-rodding world, sometimes there is the school of thought
that the more flames that adorn the car, the better. Makes it look
faster! Key word here is look...then there is the other school of
thought that a sleek, shaved, chopped, simplified body, made from
fiberglass, with a powerful mill, a slick transmission, and an
overall custom build and no flames? This build will have the flamed
seeing red... watching the tail lights as they disappear in their
front windshield, after the arm drops.
Just glancing at cars in the halls of Classic Auto Mall, one can
spot the good, bad and the ugly right away, and you do not need
much of a trained eye. This one, using nothing but the best, is
definitely a good category build and can be shown or used as a
daily driver, it's that well done. If you are not into the build
part of the game. this could have your name written all over it.
And it comes with a nifty little trailer to boot! Color me red with
envy!
Exterior
An Outlaw performance '34 Chevy Tudor body with a 3" chop, smoked
glass, and deep end of the pool red paint draws oureyes in and
makes us feel warm and fuzzy inside. The headlights and grille are
stainless and looking great. Fiberglass has its advantages, mainly
the panels are straight as arrows, gaps are nearly perfect, and
look ma... NO RUST EVER! The side cowl less hood reveals the danger
and bling lurking beneath. On the hood is a small scoop. The body
has been stripped of all of its chrome, including the bumpers and
door handles, (strictly remote with an emergency entry here kids).
Curvaceous fiberglass fenders have some painted in flourish
pinstripes on their front edges and so does the rear and back of
the car. In back there are frenched in tail lights including an
upper 3rd brake light. 2 additional small stretched oval chrome
bezel tail lights are in the bottom. Dual wide oval exhaust tips
are peeking out next the the hitch. 15-inch AR Torque Thrust wheels
are on all 4 corners and wrapped with staggered rubber 215's in
front and 245's in back. Back to that hitch... It is used to pull a
snazzy little box trailer which matches the exterior of the car
exactly right down to the painted flourishes and AR wheels. Throw
your stuff in and go!
Interior
Remotely pop open the doors and immediately you are overwhelmed
with a build quality that is second to none. Gray tweed covers
intricately molded 3D designed door panels with billet handles and
power window toggles. This color scheme and fabric repeats itself
on the overstuffed bench that has low back wide bodied bucket-like
backs and a central armrest. There is also a back bench overstuffed
and tucked and rolled stretching from tweed covered side to tweed
covered side, and all in under a tweed headliner. In the upper
center of said headliner is a billet aluminum console housing the
AM/FM/CD player. As our eyes move to the front past all the tweed,
we see a custom billet 4 spoke rally steering wheel with heartbeat
emblazoned in the center. It is covered in red leather and the tilt
column fronts a just beautiful dash. It has a tweed dash top and is
a wonderfully painted red with some eyeball AC vents, and a billet
surround for the digital red display instruments. Below this dash
is the Vintage AC and heat control as well as a few toggles and the
ignition. In the center of the floor is a Lokar shifter. Carpeting
is all gray and wonderful below this red and tweed menagerie. Oh
and don't forget the fuzzy dice..let it ride!!
Drivetrain
Peeking through the open sides of the engine bay we see a blinged
out 350ci V8 topped with an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor. Polished
billet aluminum bolt ons are strewn as far as the eye can see and
what isn't billet is highly polished chrome. A Ford 9" rear axle
handles all the power sent from the engine via a TH350 3-speed
automatic transmission. Polished headers and a Flowmaster exhaust
are on for the big exhale.
Undercarriage
Attracting all the attention underneath is the strong red Outlaw
steel frame and all polished attachments, again, the best of the
best here folks. A boxed steel frame provides the backbone for the
body, running boards and suspension, all Outlaw built and looking
just fab. An independent Mustang II style front suspension is on
with adjustable coilovers. Bringing up the rear is red painted link
suspension with more adjustable coilovers. Disc brakes are now
upfront and drums on the back. Woooooah horsey!
Drive-Ability
A pop of the door and a twist of the knob and I was in street rod
heaven. The V8 had a great rumble but not so much as to drown out
my favorite tunes. My test drive was on a chilly day so I put the
heat on. Even though it was chilly I did test the A/C and it blew
ice cold, (get the heat back on!). Power was more than adequate,
shifting was smooth, and braking was exceptional and bias free. One
issue with most street rods is lack of interior room and comfort,
this car has that problem solved and then some. These buckets you
can really sink your butt into. AHEM..
Very impressive, and a build you could not replicate for the price
of this gorgeous, high performance, great handling, convenience
loaded vintage looker. All wrapped up in fiberglass, deep red and
plenty of pinstripe accenting in just the right places. A must see
in person to really appreciate this standout, so come visit our
Hallowed Halls and see this rod in person. You won't be
disappointed with this ready to drive cross-country high-end
build.
