There are many great names that enthusiasts think of when they talk about who made the performance come alive during the Muscle Car Era of the 60's, but surely, no name is more revered than Carroll Shelby.
-
Painted Wimbledon White with Guardsman Blue stripes, it is a highly detailed build, featuring GT350R body conversion parts sourced directly from Shelby American over 30 years ago, and this car bears the signature of Carroll Shelby himself. This car is equipped with a 289ci A-code engine, Ford Motorsport cam, high-rise aluminum intake, Holley carburetor, Shelby Tri-Y headers and a Shelby cast-aluminum 7-quart oil pan. A TREMEC 5-speed manual transmission sends power through an aluminum driveshaft to a Ford 9-inch rear end fitted with an Auburn LSD and Richmond 3.50 gears. The suspension is from Total Control Products, with tubular upper and lower control arms, Shelby under-ride track bars, Ford Motorsport sway bar and KRC Racing power rack & pinion steering.
-
When Ford launched the first Mustang in 1964, it was an unprecedented sales hit, taking the automotive world by storm. But Ford new that they had a problem that would eventually hurt sales. At a time when everyone's cars were getting faster, and gaining power, the new Mustang simply wasn't very fast. The car had lots of cool factor, but Ford new that if they didn't find a way to build a performance reputation for the Mustang, customers would start to notice.
-
Who better to turn to than Shelby American, already famous for their successes with the Cobra, Daytona and Ford GT40 programs, sending the new Mustang to Shelby was a natural choice. Once the team at Shelby got involved, the result was the fire-breathing GT350, a Mustang that performed as well as it looked, and that started a legacy that continues today.
-
There was no better way to sell street performance than by proving it on the racetrack, and so the GT350 R was born. Engineered to take the Mustang from a hot street car to a winning racecar, the GT350 R was a track terror that filled Ford's Trophy case with hardware.
-
This car is built to pay tribute to those legendary racecars, and bears tremendous documented history of it's own. Having been converted to R model specification over 30 years ago, this special car is a road-legal example that has seen the track, as well as an extremely detailed restoration.
-
Correct, genuine parts, sourced directly from Shelby have been used, and this car bears the signature of Carroll Shelby himself, who personally and enthusiastically approved of its construction. Highly detailed, and upgraded for max performance, this is a show-stopping centerpiece at any event, track or show.
