1940 Pontiac Woody Wagon “Resto-mod” – Silver Streak Special Six Series, S/N# UTP05742, Green with saddle interior, wood body by Hercules. This special Woody Wagon started off life in 1939 as a fire Chief’s car in Sodus, NY, just east of Rochester and it would serve there until 1968…even pictured in Sodus Point’s Fire Department 100 year anniversary book. Purchased by the current owner about 23 years ago, in 2013, he made the decision to tastefully “restomod” his Woody so it would be more drive-able, faster and safer in order to use it more. He commissioned Lakeman Chassis of Fullerton, CA to customize his wagon. There’s too much to list but a few important improvements are: Chevy LS3 V8 and new automatic transmission, Camaro front subframe with disc brakes and stealthily installed air conditioning. This Woody appears stock but drives and behaves like a modern car, the exact blend of old and new so many of us seek. Is this the perfect beach cruiser?
