Description:
This street rail was assembled by Emil Miller Fabrication in Grand
Terrace, California, and is powered by a turbocharged 2.3-liter
Volkswagen flat-four that was rebuilt before we acquired it. The
engine has been extensively rebuilt and details are below. Shifting
is through a four-speed manual transaxle, and the tube frame and
sheet metal bodywork are finished in yellow with decals. Additional
features include a removable black vinyl roof cover, 15?
staggered-width wheels with Mickey Thompson tires, Marvin Shaw
adjustable coilovers, and a two-place bench seat trimmed in brown
vinyl upholstery.
Interior:
The open cockpit features a two-place bench seat trimmed in brown
vinyl as well as a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Crow Enterprizes
latch-and-link lap belts, and a fire extinguisher that is mounted
in the passenger footwell. AutoMeter instrumentation consists of a
140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for voltage,
oil temperature, and oil and boost pressure.
Exterior:
The tube frame and sheet metal side panels are finished in yellow,
and the latter features orange flame and "Top Dog 7" decals. The
black vinyl roof cover is removable, and additional features
consist of headlights, front turn signals, LED taillights, and dual
side mirrors. Paint chips are present throughout the exterior.
Drivetrain:
The turbocharged 2.3-liter Volkswagen flat-four was rebuilt under
previous ownership with a SCAT aluminum block, jugs, and cylinder
heads along with an aftermarket camshaft, dual valve springs, and
Bugpack pistons and rods. The engine is also equipped with a Holley
carburetor, a PerTronix Compu-Fire ignition system, a Precision
wastegate, a high-torque starter, a Holley electric fuel pump, a
high-volume oil pump, and a remote oil filter. The valves were
adjusted and the oil was changed in preparation for the sale. Power
is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle
fitted with wedge-cut gears in addition to a forged chromoly
flywheel, a six-puck clutch disc, a Kennedy Stage 2 pressure plate,
and a Sachs throw-out bearing. Polished 15? staggered-width wheels
are mounted with Mickey Thompson tires. The suspension features
Marvin Shaw adjustable coilovers while braking is handled by
cross-drilled disc brakes only in the rear.
