L twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six in this first-generation 997
has been upgraded Switzer R911 kit for a claimed output of up to
1000 HP. This kit includes an ECU software upgrade, BMC air
filters, a stainless-steel exhaust, silicone hose kit, larger
intercoolers, fuel system upgrades, billet blowoff valves,
heavy-duty wastegate actuators, billet aluminum intake plumbing,
and special Alpha GT30 turbochargers. Other modifications include a
Sachs 2.5 clutch kit and flywheel, upgraded camshafts and
adjusters, welded coolant pipes, a GT2 slave conversion, and KW V3
coil overs. Power is transferred to all four wheels by way of a
visceral 6-speed manual gearbox. Optional PCCB ceramic composite
brakes were also selected from the factory for improved stopping
