Vehicle Description
Cruisin Classics is proud to present to you this absolutely
stunning 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle. This icon of American muscle came
out of the Arlington Texas plant dressed in Gobi Beige paint with
Medium Saddle interior but stands before us today wearing a deep
and glossy black paint job with white SS stripes, a black vinyl
top, and black interior - a much cooler look. The front end of the
car is a real attention-grabber, with a working cowl induction
hood, hood pins, a gleaming bumper and quad headlight bezels, and a
nice black grille with white SS badging at its center. As you move
around to the side of the car you can't help but notice its awesome
stance as it sits upon traditional steel Rally wheels with beauty
rings and center caps all wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial TA's. The
black vinyl top looks brand new and is trimmed with nice brightwork
that really makes it pop. Bright accents continue with wheel lip
molding, window trim, door handles, and driver's side mirror. "SS
454" badging graces the front fenders, letting you know there's a
big block tucked under that cool hood. The great looks continue in
the rear of this Chevelle with SS stripes on the trunk lid, a
bright bumper with rubber centerpiece and SS logo, and shining
chrome exhaust tips. Lift the hood to reveal an immaculately clean
and well-organized engine bay that is home to a bright orange 454
V-8. This big block is a Gen IV with a 4-bolt main - an excellent
powerplant choice for this Chevelle. The 454 is well-appointed with
an Edelbrock Performer 2.0 intake, a new Jet Performance 4-barrel
carburetor, chrome valve covers, correct cowl induction air
cleaner, and headers that lead to a new exhaust. This Chevelle was
originally an A/C equipped car and it now sports a brand new
Vintage Air system with a Sanden compressor under the hood. Other
highlights in the engine bay include a new Griffin aluminum
radiator with dual electric fans, HEI ignition, power steering, and
power brakes (disc/drum) with a dual reservoir and new lines. The
454 is mated to a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission that puts
down the power through a 12-bolt open rear end. Open the driver's
door to reveal a beautiful black interior illuminated by a working
courtesy light. The black SS door cards are in great condition with
a nice bright trim. The black vinyl bucket seats look brand new and
have obviously been recently recovered. Between the seats is a
center console with an armrest/storage box and a horseshoe shifter
for the automatic transmission. The gauge cluster features
"SS-correct" round gauges with a fuel gauge, speedometer, and clock
(inop.) as well as warning lights for oil, temp., and gen... The
odometer shows just 27,057 miles which corresponds to the actual
miles title. Above the gauges is a crack-free black vinyl dash pad.
Also in the dash are new Vintage Air climate controls that crank
out cold A/C and hot heat with a strong fan. Cruisin' tunes come
courtesy of a Custom Autosound AM/FM/Bluetooth stereo that plays
through 6X9s on the rear package tray. There are working 2-speed
wipers just in case an unexpected shower crops up while cruising.
Ahead of the driver is a 3-spoke black steering wheel with a
working "bowtie" horn button. Overhead is a tight black vinyl
headliner and underfoot is a new-looking black hook loop carpet
kept fresh under carpeted logo floormats. While there is no way to
prove a 70 Chevelle is a true "SS" without a matching engine or
original documentation, this car does exhibit all of the features
that would appear on an SS including (but not limited to) boxed
rear control arms, rear sway bar, a heavy-duty front sway bar,
round gauges, and correct badging. What we can say with certainty
is that this is one seriously bad-to-the-bone 1970 triple-black big
block car with A/C, power steering, power brakes, slick paint, and
a stance that will make any muscle car lover jealous! 1970
Chevelles are tough to come by these days, especially ones that are
built to this level of quality and detail. Don't wait to call, this
black beauty surely won't be here for long!
