6-cylinder engine, this unique Vanagon boasts reliable and powerful
performance. The 5-speed manual transmission enhances the driving
experience, providing enthusiasts with a hands-on connection to the
road. This van is an original factory 1990 VW Syncro Westfalia that
was converted to 16 factory specs by purchasing a real 16 Syncro
and removing every part from the van. All parts were shipped from
Germany and brought to the US and installed onto this original
Syncro. All the metal suspension parts were sand-blasted and powder
coated before installation. The engine in the van is a 2002 Subaru
six Cylinder 3.0 motor that was installed by Bus Lab in Berkley
California using a installation kit from Rocky Mountain Westy. The
headers and muffler on the van were custom built for the van by
Sanderson Headers in California. Both the locking diff transmission
and the locking front diff have been rebuilt and have less then 500
miles on them currently. They have a 5.86 ring and pinion. This van
has a German made decoupler installed so that it can have On Demand
4WD by simply pulling the center knob. Both the front and rear
suspension are factory 16 heavy duty suspension with the larger
rear drums. The steel wheels are also heavy duty for any desired
off-roading. The true standout feature of this Vanagon is its
4-wheel drive capability, allowing adventurers to tackle diverse
terrains with confidence. Whether navigating through city streets
or exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations, the Syncro system
ensures optimal traction and control. The inclusion of adjustable
Fox Shocks further enhances the vehicle's off-road prowess,
providing a customizable suspension system to adapt to various
driving conditions. Externally, the Vanagon showcases a classic yet
refreshed aesthetic with its white exterior. The Go Westy front and
rear bumpers not only contribute to the vehicle's rugged appearance
but also serve as practical additions, offering enhanced protection
and utility. These features, coupled with the 4-wheel drive system,
make this Syncro Westfalia an ideal companion for those who seek
both adventure and style on the road. Stepping inside, the gray
interior exudes a cozy and timeless atmosphere, maintaining the
Westfalia's reputation for being a comfortable home on wheels. The
interior layout is designed to maximize space efficiency, providing
a well-thought-out living space that includes a kitchenette,
sleeping quarters, and storage, making it ideal for road trips and
camping adventures. In summary, the 1990 Volkswagen Vanagon Syncro
Westfalia is a distinctive and versatile vehicle that marries the
nostalgia of the classic California Bus with modern upgrades. From
its powerful Subaru engine to its 4-wheel drive capability and
