Vehicle Description

1937 Ford Custom Coupe

In 1937, Ford introduced a refresher of the Model 48 and put out a car with more rounded fenders and a very cool V-shaped front grill. They have an extremely unique styling so leave it up to street-rodders of the world to take that one step further. Just like with earlier 1932 and 1934 Ford's, the '37 was chosen as one of the few to be revitalized later in life with fiberglass bodies. However, the '37 came with a twist. Custom builders took what was already a great looking car and massaged its unique body lines to create some of the sharpest customs on the road. They took the notable features of the original look and accentuated it by sharpening certain points to create a more angular look that looks extremely intimidating on the road. These intense looking street rods became wildly popular but not all are created equal. This clean '37 is a very well built and solid car that features a Minotti body. They were based out of Naples, Florida and looking at their reputation online were regarded as one of the higher quality bodies money could buy. Once the detailed body was ready to go it was sent off to Eastern Rod and Customs in Raleigh, North Carolina where it received a gorgeous Tangelo Pearl Orange paint job. It is show car quality and is the perfect way to highlight the body lines as it highlights all the curves and angles when you get it out in the sun. You really need to see it to appreciate its beauty. We looked at it in detail and it is virtually flawless. The front end features tear drop headlights with smoked lenses and hidden LED turn signals that sit to each side of the wide custom chrome grill. From there you have the custom hood which opens from either side leading to the chopped two piece custom smoked glass. Stainless steel wipers are in place just in case but the car has never seen the rain. It has been kept mostly shaved clean with no exterior hardware until you get back to the custom tail lights. The rest is a sea of beautiful orange pearl paint and a sleek streamlined body. Due to being shaved the doors are controlled via the key fob which also allows you to roll down the drivers side window. Not enough tech? Well you can change up the entire stance via that same key fob thanks to the sophisticated Air Ride Technologies system underneath. You can adjust each bag independently from the inside of the car but on the fob there are 3 settings. 1 to slam it down to the ground at shows, 1 to set it to ride height, and 1 for "trailer" mode to give you the most clearance. Tucked under each swooping fender is a great looking set of custom Budnik Gasser 5 "double" spoke wheels. Up front are Kumho 215/40R17 tires and in rear are Hoosier 31x16.50R17LT pro street radials.

If you thought that wide rubber under the rear was all for looks then just wait until you get behind the wheel. This beauty is powered by a 454 ci Big Block V8 crate motor. It is rated at 450 horsepower and runs extremely well. It has been dressed up with a custom air cleaner that is painted to match with custom pinstriping, painted to match finned valve covers, and lots of chrome. On the chrome Edelbrock performer intake it has a Demon 750 4 barrel carb and braided fuel lines with high quality Jegs fittings are used throughout. Other high end components include the Lokar throttle linkage, HEI distributer, loomed Summit Racing wires, Powermaster alternator and a polished AC compressor. Up front it has an aftermarket Walker radiator to keep it running cool with no issues. Turn the key and the car springs right to life and settles into an aggressive growl through the ceramic coated Hooker Headers into custom dual exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers. The pipes are routed out to the sides into a notched section of the running boards. That shows the attention to detail as custom trim was created for that rounded section to create a really slick cohesive look. Backing up the motor is a smooth shifting TH400 automatic transmission that sends power back to the Ford 9 inch rear. Underneath the car a majority of the components are painted to match the top and it is very worthy of showing off at car shows. It was built to drive but was also built to win so with a little detailing it is ready to have mirrors underneath and be admired. The brakes feature all braided lines and stopping is never an issue thanks to the Baer discs under all four corners with drilled/slotted rotors and large chrome calipers. In addition to the air ride system the car also has a 4-link in rear and a Heidts subframe up front. It is clear no corners have been cut throughout.

Take a peak inside and you will see it was clearly influenced by the body with a long sleek custom center console framed by modern Cerully SC bucket seats. It was very tastefully done and features a supple Cream leather upholstery. The seats have color match lap belts and are as soft as that La-Z-Boy recliner in your living room. On the painted center console is your chrome emergency brake lever, air ride controls, B&M t-handle ratchet shifter, and Alpine stereo. Moving into the lower section of the dash it is kept nice and clean with only the Vintage Air AC/heat controls and the ignition. The main portion of the dash is where you will find the adjustable AC vents, White Dolphin gauges w/Tach, LED indicators, and the hood releases on both sides. In front of the driver is a cleanly mounted polished tilt column topped off with a Budnik steering wheel. Think the fun stops there? Well just look up to see the beautifully finished out custom headliner with dome light that is accented by inset Orange upholstery that matches the door panel design. That same touch continues into the trunk where you will find plenty of storage space between the tubbed inner fenders.

This extremely high end build is being offered up at a stellar price. If you add everything packed into the car you will quickly see you couldn't replicate it for more than double what we are asking. This killer show ready street rod is ready for a new garage to call home. It is the perfect marriage of custom show car combined with high performance drivability.

Get it for a fraction of the build cost at $59,500.00!
