2021 Dodge Ram TRX - Launch Edition 4x4
Trucks have always been popular but the world of high performance
trucks has really exploded. Some of the tightest competition is the
back and fourth between Ford's Raptor and the Ram TRX. Clearly
built to battle even the "TRX" name (think T-Rex) is a friendly jab
at the Raptor. Now you have the standard level performance trucks,
which are impressive in their own right, but then you also have
beasts like this very clean "Launch Edition." They were designed to
commemorate the new TRX and only an exclusive 702 were made to pay
homage to the 702 horsepower they were packing from the factory.
They sold out in an astounding 3 hours proving these factory race
trucks were not only going to be popular but would end up being a
collector vehicle in their own right. These trucks wear the
recognizable and exclusive Anvil Gray paint plus TRX graphics. The
angular design with functioning hood scoop, grill, and brake scoops
lets you know it means business. The specialty Dodge Launch wheels
are beadlock-capable with BF Goodrich Wrangler all terrain tires.
The truck has 7,876 miles on it since new and resides with its
first owner.
Part of what makes the truck so special is the supercharged 6.2L
Hemi V8 that sends it roaring down the road. It cranks out 702
horsepower with 650 lb-ft of torque resulting in a 12.9 second
quarter-mile time. In that run you would reach 60mph by 4.5 seconds
and 100 by 10.5. It is the type of quick that slams you back into
your seat. The transmission is a TorqueFlite 8HP95 8 speed
automatic that shifts smoothly whether you are flying down to track
or out on the trails. That is what is so impressive about the truck
as well. The technology of these things has reached the point to
where the same truck you just had on the track can now be
off-roaded by just changing the drive mode. The 2.5 inch Bilstein
Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks were designed
specifically for the TRX so you won't find them on anything else.
It also has a unique new dual path induction system delivering the
max amount of air to cool the motor.
The interior of the Launch featured custom upholstery with carbon
fiber and Red accents. On the center console you will find its
unique brushed aluminum and Red Launch edition emblem. The leather
upholstery looks great and features very nice Red stitching and TRX
embroidery. It has a flat bottom leather wrapped steering wheel
which also incorporates suede and carbon fiber. The paddle shifters
behind let you comfortable control every shift without ever taking
your hands off the wheel. One of the most striking features is the
Uconnect 4C NAV 12 inch touchscreen on the center of the dash that
acts as your control center. Everything from checking your air/fuel
ratio, to dialing in your drive mode, to turning on your seat
warmers can be done from this impressive panel. Other very cool
features include the dual pane panoramic sunroof, 19 speaker Harman
Kardon premium sound system, heads up display and more.
