Vehicle Description
Thoroughly redesigned from stem to stern, the all-new third
generation C/K trucks for 1973 proved to be the longest-lived
series in Chevrolet's history and the three-box styling has proved
quite popular since. Aside from wheels and hubcaps, there really
wasn't much that was round anywhere in the design other than the
body sides that featured a sculpted character line with a central
plateau panel as well as curved side glass, a first on a GM truck.
This short bed 1979 Chevrolet C/10 is an excellent example of this
stylish design that is so popular today, as it was when new.
Finished handsomely in a rich green color, the clean body lines are
highlighted by the removal of all factory emblems and badging.
Sitting slightly lower than the original ride height, this C/10
rolls on a staggered set of Dunlop GT Qualifier white lettered
tires mounted on Ultra brand polished aluminum wheels, giving it a
great stance without sacrificing drivability and utility. A black
tonneau covering the bed adds to the smooth and tailored look of
this clean classic truck. Inside, the deep black interior is
complemented with a factory tilt steering column fitted with a
custom Grant three-spoke steering wheel, a row of three under-dash
gauges and a Kenwood stereo with Bluetooth.
Powering this classic Chevy is a 350 cubic inch V8 mated to a
3-speed automatic transmission with numerous upgrades that include
an aluminum Edelbrock Performer intake topped with Holley Street
Demon four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock chrome open-element air
cleaner. Chrome valve covers look great on the engine and the
long-tube exhaust headers exiting through a throaty-sounding dual
exhaust system help this healthy 350 engine breathe. On board is a
new battery, front disc brakes and a quality trailer hitch as
well.
