When it comes to comfort, power, and presence, there isn't a whole
lot of classics that can beat Chevrolet's legendary Impala. It can
be extraordinarily tough to improve upon the classic, stock
Impala's style, but this absolutely gorgeous 1961 Chevrolet Impala
restomod certainly manages pulls it off. This gleaming work of
automotive art is the result of a 5-year, nut-and-bolt, ground-up
rotisserie restoration that was comprehensively completed in 2014.
It features tons of new and upgraded performance parts, all of
which combine to make this Impala a true show-stopper in every
sense of the term. Popping open the hood reveals a 348 C.I. V8
sitting inside the immaculate engine bay, which breathes fire
through a "Tri-Power" 3x2-barrel carburetor setup. An all-aluminum
"T-10" 4-speed manual transmission stomps torque into the pavement,
and the driveshaft spins the wheels through a heavy-duty rear axle
with a 3.70 gearing. All these upgrades allow this Impala to burn
rubber the minute you put it in gear! The exterior's black paint is
in show-quality condition, reflecting like a mirror in the sun.
It's complimented wonderfully by acres of dazzling chrome trim and
gorgeous accenting red paint that fits within the chrome running
down the side of the car! Underneath the car presents a wide array
of upgrades, starting with a fully sandblasted and powder-coated
frame. There's also a completely-new suspension setup including new
bushings, springs and shocks that were all installed during
restoration. 4-wheel power disc brakes increase stopping power all
around, and an updated 500 unit power steering module makes the
driving experience all that much better. Opening the twin doors
reveals an absolutely stunning bright red leather interior, with
custom French stitching and upholstered Cadillac electric bucket
seats. These seats are extremely comfy, and they are perfect for
cruising when paired with this car's custom center console. This
'61 Impala comes with a myriad of options, some of which include
500-unit power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, ice-cold
Vintage Air A/C, a Hurst shifter, an AM pushbutton radio, an
aftermarket tachometer, a fully custom interior, a chrome tilt
steering column, dual chrome mirrors, new suspension components,
and a mean-sounding dual exhaust system. The car rides on an
attention-grabbing set of staggered 5-spoke chrome wheels, 17" in
the front and 18" in the rear. With the litany of upgrades that
this Impala has, it runs and drives down the road like a dream.
Rest assured, if you're in the market for a truly top-of-the-line,
no-expense-spared restomod that is sure to turn heads anywhere it
goes, then this '61 Impala is just what you're looking for.
