Presenting our 1978 Ferrari 308 GT4 (Chassis 308gt414200), a
US-market series-three model in Rosso Corsa over tan leather,
powered by a 2.9-liter V8 and a five-speed manual. Originally sold
by Ferrari of Los Gatos, California, it came into the possession of
the previous owner in 1997 from the original owner. The October
2019 service, encompassing timing belts, engine mounts, fan
temperature sensor, and starter replacement, along with carburetor
adjustment and distributor rebuilding, adds to its meticulous
maintenance. This GT4 includes manufacturer's literature, a factory
jack, tool roll, a Handic Paris II radio and brochure, removed Koni
shocks, service records, and a November 2023 California smog
certificate.
The mid-mounted all-aluminum 2.9L Tipo F106AL, Ferrari's inaugural
V8 in production, features a flat-plane crankshaft, four Weber 40
DCNF carburetors, and dual distributors. Recent servicing within
the last 5,000 miles involved adjusting carburetors, rebuilding
distributors, and replacing the starter, fan temperature sensor,
engine mounts, and timing belts. Additional work from 2021 to 2023
included installing replacement cam seals, valve cover gaskets,
accessory belts, and various new parts, ensuring the car's optimal
performance.
