The Tiptronic-equipped, Cabriolet version of the Porsche 911 Carrera (993) debuted for the 1994 model year. These sports cars were powered by a naturally aspirated 3.6L flat six engine that developed 268hp. From the 1996 model year, this engine was improved, now featuring an output of 281hp. Drive from the engine was sent to the rear wheels via a 4 speed 'Tiptronic' automatic transmission. A rare option known as the X51 was available on the Carrera, which included a larger and more powerful 3.8L flat six. Production of the Tiptronic-equipped Porsche 911 Carrera (993) Cabriolet ended in 1998.
