Melanson Motors is proud to offer this 1955 Chevrolet 3100 Big Back Window. This all steel truck was rescued from a yard in Texas and transformed into an excellent driving street truck. It was restored 20 years ago. This truck is not a perfect show truck, however it presents very well and runs and drives excellent! It features a reliable, small block 350 cubic inch engine mated to a 3-speed TH350 automatic transmission. The engine is cooled by an aluminum radiator and electric fans. Vintage air conditioning has been installed and blows cold. This Chevy has disc brakes up front and power steering. The frame has been boxed at the front to accommodate the Fatman front end. A fuel cell sits at the rear with a custom fuel filler neck in the inside of the box. This truck rides on 15 inch wheels with BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires.
The body is painted a metallic burgundy and is straight throughout. The paint is in good driver condition with great gloss and shine. The interior has a beautiful tan leather bench seat with armrests and cupholders. It also has a matching tan carpet, a wooden steering wheel from a Peterbilt big rig, a tilt steering column, a beautiful Dolphin gauge cluster, a tan headliner with sun visors and a custom stereo system. The sound system features a modern AM/FM radio deck fitted neatly into the dash with speakers neatly placed behind the bench seat.
