Vehicle Description
1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS For Sale - 9,670 Miles, An
Unrepeatable, Low Mileage, Original Survivor LMC is very proud to
offer for sale this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS Chevrolet scored a
branding coup in 1961 when it introduced the Super Sport option
package consisting of heavy-duty suspension, brakes, wheels and
tires, interior trim upgrades, and a choice of three performance
engines. The message was clear: a Chevrolet bearing the distinctive
SS badges was to be taken seriously by the competition. The SS
package grew to encompass other Chevrolet models, and, in 1967, it
found another natural home in the sporty new Camaro, which spawned
its own special feature suite, the Rally Sport package.Ordered
together, the SS and RS options produced one of the most exciting
performers of the classic muscle car era. This 1968 Camaro RS/SS
offered here for sale is a time capsule example with only 9,670
miles from new and is regarded by Camaro expert Jerry MacNeish as
"One of the nicer original survivor Camaros that I have seen..."
This statement made from Mr.MacNeish is a testament to this
example's quality and originality, as he has visually inspected
thousands of Camaros and ranked this example to be one the best
survivors in his database. In the last 38 years of business at
Legendary, we have sold many first-gen Camaros and this certainely
is the finest original survivor we have had the privilege of
selling. Purchased new by its original from Dan Ridge Chevrolet in
Danbury, Connecticut on November 17th, 1967, this first-gen Camaro
has been pampered and stored with its original owner for over 40
years! Under the SS hood lies the numbers matching L48 350ci/295hp
backed by the numbers matching M20 four-speed manual transmission.
Factory ordered with a host of options including: N40 power
steering, ZK3 deluxe seat belts, Z22 rally sport equipment, Z87
custom interior, B37 floor mats front and rear, U63 Am radio, D55
console, U35 console and Z19 auxiliary lighting. The factory P01

stripe tires. A testament to the original owner's care, it is still
wearing its original Matador Red paint and retains its original
Deluxe White vinyl interior. The undercarriage has been well
preserved, still showing many of the original final inspection
markings from the assembly line. This is absolutely a reference
example that restorers could use to help replicate original
assembly nuances. The paperwork documenting this Camaro RS/SS is
incredible including the window sticker, Protect-O-Plate, original
keys, original bill of sale, car invoice, original finance
paperwork, registration documentation, ownership history, Jerry
MacNeish Certificate Of Authenticity, owner's manuals and pamphlet.
