Three (3) owners, numbers matching 911T, finished in a rare color
combination of Pastel Blue over Tan interior. The paintwork is in
impeccable condition throughout, with a consistent finish verified
through paint meter readings. Original paint is present throughout
the front bonnet, underneath the front hood, door jambs, closing
panels the front hood, and closing panels for the rear decklid. The
exterior rubber seals, original Sigla glass, brightwork, and trim
are all in great condition with perfect gaps and panel fit.
The upholstery is original and well-preserved, featuring a 4-spoke
VDM black leather wrapped steering wheel with butterfly horn ring,
factory VDO instrumentation, Tan Coco mats, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM
radio. 5 " x 15" KPZ painted wheels are fitted to Pirelli P6000 N2
185 70 R15 tires. Due to the low mileage and excellent care, the
undercarriage remains in its original condition with no signs of
rust.
The original maintenance record booklet confirms that the 911T
Targa was first delivered on May 25, 1970, by Volkswagen KDC in
Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, to Major Neel in Queensboro, Kentucky
with only 40 miles on the odometer. Major Neel opted for a European
delivery option through the Tourist Delivery Program, which is
evident from the original service invoices issued by Ernst Islinger
VW, and is also recorded in the maintenance booklet.
Additionally, the maintenance record booklet tracks dealer-recorded
services until 1976 at 35,563 miles. Service records from 1970-2008
provide evidence of Major Neel's ownership and demonstrate a steady
progression of mileage from 35,563-45,501 miles. In 2009, CPR
Classic purchased the vehicle and carried out a respray to the
original color. Throughout the restoration process, the primary
goal was to preserve as much of the 911's original paint as
possible. The outcome was truly remarkable, exceeding all
expectations. The 911T was later sold to its second owner, Mr.
Murch, from Arizona. In 2018, the 911 was sold to its third and
current owner, who has an impressive collection of only blue
Porsches.
As per the Certificate of Authenticity, the 911T was initially
delivered in Pastel Blue over Tan leatherette upholstery. Optional
equipment from the factory includes US Equipment, bumperettes front
and rear, 911S Instruments, oil tank, rear bumper apron, Blaupunkt
AM/FM radio, and tinted glass all around.
