Chevrolet's 1973-'87 C/10 series light trucks, commonly referred to
as the "square body", have been riding a wave of popularity over
the last decade. Looking at this super-clean, tastefully upgraded,
1982 C/10 short bed Chevy, it is easy to understand why. Subject to
a recent comprehensive restoration, it has a laser-straight body
finished expertly in a dark gray color that is deep and glossy. All
the bright work and trim has either been restored and polished or
replaced with new correct quality replacements. Most notably, the
grill has been upgraded to a 1986 design. With trucks from this
vintage, stance is everything and requires some thought and
understanding to get it right. A quality DJM 4-inch front/6-inch
rear lowering kit and a carefully selected set of 20-inch American
Racing Wheels rims with tires staggered 245/45R20 front and
315/35R20 rear have resulted with a perfect stance that make this
C/10 look amazing.
Under the hood and underneath this modern classic truck is equally
as clean as the exterior and well thought-out as well. The engine
is a newly rebuilt 350 cubic inch V8 with and aluminum intake
topped with Holley single 4-barrel carburetor, running a Comp Cam
and a CVF belt system mated to a 700R automatic transmission.
Additionally, there is an aluminum radiator and Chevrolet
Performance black finished valve covers and air cleaner adding to
the clean look of the highly detailed engine bay. A set of shorty
headers exit through a throaty sounding Flowmaster FX dual
exhaust.
