1 of only 69 with Ram Air shaker hood option, documented by the
Marti Report! Very desirable, VIN # matching M code 351 motor too.
Overall good looking solid car. It is a rare muscle car that is
affordable, it can easily be brought to the next level.
EXTERIOR: It is a great looking, sloped roof design. The body is
laser straight, the panels and gaps fit together nicely and look
proper. That shaker scoop sticking through the opening in the hood
is why I bought this car! It also has the optional color keyed
racing mirrors. Great looking color, the metal flake is laid out
evenly and the clear coat is glossy. The trim appears original and
shows well. The glass is also good original. It is sitting pretty
on a set of chrome 15 inch Magnum wheels.
INTERIOR: Bucket seats and a console! Overall good condition. The
upholstery looks great, carpet is like new, dash cap was installed.
The instrument panel is not cut up, it has original radio. It has
an oil and voltage gauge under the dash. A new steering wheel and
some detailing on the console would improve things. Door panels are
in good shape.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood you'll find a true M-code
351-300 hp Cleveland motor. These are great motors and feature 11:1
compression, a great new head design, a 4 barrel carb, and this one
has the optional ram air. Better yet this one is original VIN
number matching to this car! Overall, it is complete: squirters and
horns are hooked up, it has correct fan shroud etc. The engine bay
is all clean metal. It is a presentable correct engine bay.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk is very spacious. Under the trunk lid
and jambs are painted nice and glossy. The entire trunk was painted
in the green metallic as well. It's fitted with a trunk liner mat,
and a spare tire!
UNDERSIDE: Look at how dry the undercarriage is! Clean southern
undercarriage is always a plus when it comes to older cars. The
front steering and suspension look to be in good shape along with
the rear suspension as well. It has disc brakes in front and drum
in rear. Again, everything is very clean looking free of debris and
grime. The dual exhaust system is fitted with glass pack mufflers
and in good shape. Looking up at the engine it is clean, has
correct fuel pump and a high torque starter. It has the correct C6
select shift auto trans and it looks fresh. It has the correct 3.25
rear axle. The floors look very clean as well as the frame rails
and everything is painted nicely in satin black.
SERVICE: Through our on-site shop inspection the following issues
were corrected, replaced, or repaired. Carb was rebuilt along with
timing set properly. The alternator was replaced. The wiring was
fixed for the windshield wipers, turn signals, and blower control
resistor. The temperature gauge was replaced, and all the gauges
including clock are functional.
Documented 1 of 69 made, how many exist? You might be looking at
the only one! It is a good base, with some tinkering you can bring
this car to the next level and really have something to be proud
of. VIN #s match motor is rarer than you think in a performance
Ford, most of the Mach-1s and even the Shelbys we sell do not have
matching motors.
A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am
offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen
are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your
questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a
walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that
car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and
you will be given a 1 year membership.
