1984 Mercedes-Benz 500SL Roadster
In 1984 only 1793 500SL's were produced, so you have a very rare
car here. This vehicle is in excellent condition. Production number
4704932 from 0500 Sindelfingen plant shipment date is 11.04.1984.
The Signal Red paint is in excellent condition and the light brown
leather is in great shape. In 1981 the 4.5L engine was dropped in
favor of the new all-aluminum 3.8L, V8 rated at 155hp and the names
changed to 380SL and 380SLC. But over in Europe, a 5.0L, 240 hp
version of that engine was presented in a 500SL and few of those
trickled into the US in developing "gray market"
The vehicle has a factory fold down rear seat that was standard on
the 500. It has cruise control which is also known as tempomat.
Other features it has are; fog lights, heated rear window for the
hardtop, electronically controlled right - side mirror.
Maintenance / repairs completed within the last 3,000 miles; Tires,
balancing, alignment, rear brake service, new German upholstery
installed, battery and electrical testing - engine and transmission
numbers verified, replace tie rod, new German factory spec soft
black 9001 with tan dobby weave lining, AC checked, new OEM hood
pad and rear pad, coolant flush, trans service, oil and filter
change, replaced fuel filter, fuel pump and regulator.
Wiper system (windshield and headlights) in inoperative. Never used
as car has not seen rain. Original factory reservoir bag (not
plastic replacement) is intact. The ABS light is on in the
dashboard. Part no longer produced since 2012.
