Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars Milwaukee is excited to present this 1971 Ford
Torino GT Cobra. Built for only two years with only 3,054 units
sold in 1971. This Torino is a very rare example with the optional
429-4V CJ-R Cobra Jet engine that was installed in only 203 Torino
GTs. To make this Ford Torino even rarer, only 123 had automatic
transmissions, 20 were painted bright red, three have Vermillion
vinyl bench seating, two were equated with a tach, and only ONE
came with an AM/FM radio with this combination. Which just happens
to be this Torino GT Cobra per the Marti Report. The 429 Cobra Jet
engine sends this Torino directly into the muscle car market
pumping out an astonishing 370hp. The GT sports roof design,
scooped hood, rocker panel molding, color keyed mirrors, raised
white letter tires, and a laser stripe on both sides make for one
attractive automobile. The matching red interior has vinyl bench
seating, factory AM/FM radio, factory rear speakers, tinted glass,
and air conditioning. Other features include power steering, power
brakes, C-6 Select Shift Cruise-O-Matic automatic transmission, and
a 3.25 Traction Loc differential.
