Vehicle Description
2014 Chevrolet Camaro 2LT RS Coupe
Hot Wheels was first introduced in 1968 to the toy industry during
NEW YORK TOY FAIR. Hot Wheels' birthday is celebrated on MAY 18 and
the first Hot Wheels car off the line was a dark blue CUSTOM
CAMARO. Over 6 BILLION Hot Wheels have been produced since 1968.
16.5 Hot Wheels are produced EVERY SECOND, and in the US the
average kid owns 50 hot wheels. Who says America is not in love
with cars?
For consignment, a real and title verified low mile, (11,393),
garage kept, 1 owner 2014 Camaro 2LT coupe with the RS package. Now
55 years after the first Hot wheel's car came off the line in the
form of a dark blue Custom Camaro we have this example in Red Rock
Metallic gracing our Hallowed Halls. This is the never in rain or
snow real deal, even in 323hpV6 trimmings with a performance
suspension, 4 wheel anti-lock brakes, a heads-up display, and a
touch of retro styling thrown in the mix this car is loaded. These
many options come as factory upgrades as part of the 2LT package as
per the included window sticker. A car that eats Mustangs, right
here at Classic Auto Mall ready for the taking!
Exterior
With a mere 11,393 original miles, this beauty is bathed in Red
Rock Metallic and shines like a crazy diamond. Adding more bling is
the ever so slightly scooped throwback cowl induction style hood
and the factory installed low profile rear spoiler. This car looks
great from the front with its bad ass pointy front grille design to
the deep inset single LED halo ring headlights, integrated bumper,
fog lights, and don't forget the gold bowtie and red RS badging
leading the way. The steel panels are all nice and straight and
mind their gaps very well. Looking at the profile, the aero design
continues with the swept back windshield and oversized polished 5
spoke 20-inch wheels wearing the factory installed staggered width
rubber. We note more nods to the Camaros of yore in the form of the
gills on the rear quarter panels and the semi wraparound integrated
tail lights. A racer ready to take on the orange track with its
banked curves and looper.
Interior
Pure sex could be some words to describe this snappy interior. All
is bathed in black leather and sporting some carefully placed white
stitching is just retro beautiful and we are only looking at the
seats. These are high back power actuated buckets, almost in their
plastic wrappers from the factory, yes they're that clean, that
present with broad black tuck and roll inserts and smooth black
bolsters complete with white stitching and some very tall
adjustable integrated headrests. It is all serious rock and roll on
this interior. In the rear we see a 2 plus 2's bench/buckets and
just beautifully molded curved leather and plastic with more white
stitching to form this interior accenting. The dash and console
repeat this motif with all molded in controls, backlit gauges, and
a center Chevrolet MyLink 8-inch screen stereo, backup cam,
AM/FM/CD/Sirius capable/Bluetooth connectivity stereo, and other
goodies to keep you distracted with your fingers. Paddle shifters
are included on the column and a heads up display is optioned to
keep the driver abreast of all vehiclefunctions without taking an
eye off the road. All of this is floating in black carpeting and
above is a tight black molded broadcloth headliner. Simple yet very
visually effective, with lots of cues that hint back to the 1969
Camaro. I almost forgot to mention, this interior still has a bit
of that "new car smell" as it has never been smoked in or carried
any pets.
Drivetrain
Under the hood is a 3.6 liter SIDI V6 that will pump out 323
horses. This mill has EFI and a 6-speed automatic 6L50E
transmission with a 3.27 differential on back. As mentioned earlier
the transmission can be left to shift itself or be shifted
semi-automatically with the paddle shifters behind the leather
wrapped steering wheel.
Undercarriage
Like new as expected, and we note variable ratio power steering,
performance suspension with MacPherson Struts upfront, and a
multi-link and coil spring arrangement in back. Power disc brakes
are on all 4 corners and a like new dual exhaust is mounted on with
all the ground effects panels.
Drive-Ability
Like sitting atop the hill on the orange track awaiting the holding
gate to fall so I could propel myself down through the super dooper
looper, and around the banked curves, racing to the wheel house to
get more speed...but I digress, in reality it was much more
exciting. I experienced great acceleration from those 323 horses,
fantastic handling, and the various modes give a totally different
driving feel with each selection. Solid braking, and the leather
wrapped steering wheel is just the right size for quick turning.
Let's just say this car crushed it on the test track!
Those smaller toys were great on that orange track, but this
version is definitely juiced, sexy looking, and designed to look
and cook. Many extra features on this 2LT version, plus the super
low miles and single garage kept ownership just add to the
mystique. "Life is too short to drive a boring car...Drive a Camaro
and live life to the fullest!"
