Go big or go home with this 1968 Chevrolet Camaro! This Pro Street Camaro, built by Scott Carroll Race Cars in Claiborne, LA, offers an electrifying orange color to go with one radical performance machine. While not a “true” SS, this bad boy comes with a stout big block V8, and enough tire to make this street-legal hammer a head turner anywhere it goes.
This Pro Street Camaro starts with a gorgeous coat of Hugger Orange and white stripes. Underneath the paint is ultra-straight sheetmetal that stretches over the Camaro's mechanicals and rear, tubbed, inner fenders. There's also a slightly raised cowl hood and plenty of authentic SS badges to help give it that “original-style” Camaro look. Is it a real SS? NO! Who cares! It looks right, sits right, and with a blacked-out grille and ducktail spoiler, it certainly looks the part. This superior build continues with a Chrome-moly tubed frame, role cage, and and custom chassis done right. No hack jobs or backyard builds here!
The interior is easily accessible for most drivers, but also is a reminder that this is a race car that gets the "street" part of pro-street exactly right. Two true fixed racing bucket seats await the driver and any passenger brave enough to take a ride. Complete with harness bar and 4 point harnesses, stock door panels, a stock dash with gauges and including a tach with shift light, a B&M Ratchet Style Shifter and even a factory black carpet. Gauges are original and include additional Oil, Fuel, and Water gauges at the bottom of part of the dash. Additional switches are mounted to the roof for ignition, fuel pump, fans, and of course the push button starter. There is also a Biondo Mega 400 controller located and mounted at the back of the shifter.
The biggest part of this 68 Pro Street Camaro is under the hood, and it doesn't disappoint! The GM Performance ZZ 502 Crate Motor was built by Larry Warroll, making 502hp and 526ft. lbs. of torque. A turbo 400 transmission with 410 gears helps send power to the MASSIVE rear wheels. The big Holley 4-barrel carburetor, built by Gary Williams and Williams Carburetors sits atop a high-flow intake manifold, so throttle response is snappy and an MSD ignition system lights it up. Ceramic-coated, long-tube headers give it a great sound. A full wiring diagram for all the wiring will come with the car when sold. This is all accented by a painted black engine bay that gives it the perfect backdrop, as well as carefully hidden wiring and plumbing so it looks ultra-clean. This Camaro better reflex a true pro street car than you'd ever expect. A complete electronic ignition system has been added to insure quick and easy starts. This car was built to go straight off the line with a full power release trans brake button and launches hard. The icing on this Pro Street Camaro cake is 4 wheel disc brakes, 4 link, and Rack and Pinion steering. Over $70,000 invested in this entire build.
Fast, fun, and ready to rock!!! You will not be disappointed here. This car comes with plenty of smiles per gallon. Calls and emails welcomed.
