Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is excited to be able to
present this performance enhanced 1997 Dodge Viper GTS! There were
just about 540 of the GTS models for 1997 that were finished in the
Viper Red, and this example was one of less than 200 total that
came with the Silver Sparkle wheels, though obviously the wheel
package has been upgraded a bit. When it comes to brute force
automobiles, nothing compares to the sheer exhilaration of hitting
the road in Dodge's iconic 8.0L V/10, but to couple the upgraded
GTS trim level for some of the "creature comforts" like power
windows, power lock & A/C AND to have the V/10 worked up to 586
RWHP (per HP Tuners & Mainline Dyno Hub), then you are an entirely
different level! The list of engine upgrades is long to say the
least, but here a some of the internal & bolt-on goodies: Greg Good
G3 CNC machined/ported/polished heads with a Brian Tooley spring
package, Texas Speed pushrods, Gen3 rockers, Greg Good custom spec
cam, fly cut pistons & Clevite H Main bearings, a rare Lingenfelter
G2 intake manifold with 70mm Accufab throttle bodies, Gen3 American
racing headers, a 3" Corsa exhaust with Cat delete & a complete set
of IPSCO billet pulleys , all tuned by Torrie McPhail over at
Unleashed. The 6-speed manual was upgraded to handle the additional
power by adding an IPSCO trans mount, a Centerforce dual friction
clutch and a Motive 3.55 gearing out back & keeping it cool is an
RSI/Howe Racing radiator & twin fan set up and a rare Roe racing
front fascia cooling mod. This GTS is SICK! Moton Club Sport coil
overs, 800#/1000# Eibach springs, TKO Adjustable sway bars, Gen3
Viper front brakes, GM Brembos in the rear, an AutoForm "Track
Attack" aero package, rear diffuser & roll cage, some ultra-rare
E19 Viper Competition Coupe 19" Magnesium wheels wit Toyo R888R's,
black ceramic tint... are you getting the picture yet? This is a
once in a lifetime opportunity to jump into a 1997 Viper GTS that
is "built to the hilt" but has never been tracked! There are very
few people that have the discipline and driving experience to
handle such a high-performance automobile, so if you fall into that
category & have been considering the nerve-racking excitement of
high-performance driving, then this 1997 Viper GTS might just
scratch that itch.
