Vehicle Description
Multi year thorough restoration that touched every component and
upgraded several to make the FJ even more driver friendly. The FJ
has power steering and front disc brake systems taken from later
model FJ40 and seamlessly incorporated into the building process.
This FJ40 Land Cruiser has undergone a complete frame off
restoration. This Royal Blue FJ40 looks like it just came off the
assembly line; with a few subtle comfort upgrades. Everything from
the frame, body, and interior has been gone through - replaced,
repainted, and/or restored. Many new rubber gaskets, moldings, &
parts; using mostly OEM (as available). The F Engine - inline 6,
has been completely rebuilt. The 3-speed transmission & dual-range
transfer case was also thoroughly inspected & rebuilt with new
bearings & seals installed. The transmission is mated with a Fairey
Overdrive unit. The front axle was also outfitted with disc brakes
during the rebuild. During the build, the vehicle was also equipped
with power steering.
This restoration was done with attention to detail, and began when
the vehicle was first purchased in 2012. The objective was a
vehicle that kept its originality, but would also provide a few
comfort upgrades to enjoy along the way. The majority of this work
was completed in 2012-2015. There are receipts documentation that
will accompany the sale, many photos of the process as well.
