Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is happy to be able to
present this gorgeous 1967 Mercury Cougar. The Cougar was the most
successful model launch in the history of Mercury and it was named
Car of The Year by Motor Trend magazine, beating out the Chevrolet
Camaro, Ford Thunderbird and Cadillac Eldorado. This example is
finished in a beautiful Limetruce green with a very nice black
vinyl interior, low back buckets, an aftermarket Grant woodgrain
steering wheel and a burled wood-veneer dash, all showing very
nicely. Under the hood lurks a strong running 351 CID Windsor that
is set up with an Edelbrock aluminum intake, a Holley carb,
headers, and some sharp looking brushed aluminum & black finned
Cougar valve covers, letting you know that this is not just some
base model Cougar! In addition to all that is the T-10 5-speed
manual transmission, guaranteed to add to the excitement of driving
this lovely cat around town! The Cougar was originally built on the
Mustang chassis, but an additional 2" frame stretch by the boys at
Mercury factory gave these Cougars that long, sleek look that,
along with the hideaway headlights, has come to signify the
distinction of these 1st gen Cougars. If you are an early Cougar
fan, this is one you don't want to miss!
