Vehicle Description
1974 Buick Gran Sport
The Gran Sport (GS) name was applied to various high performance
cars applied to the Buick brand. Buick was 2nd in place when it
came to GMs luxury vehicles right behind Cadillac. Cadillac did not
create performance models making the Buick GS the most lavishly
equipped GM sport models in their time. This Buick is a 1974 and a
very clean example of one of these cars. It is all rust free and
painted in a dark Red with White GS stripe. It was also ordered
with the partial vinyl top which is in great shape. These cars had
unique body lines with a unique quarter window in the fastback
roofline. The glass all has a slight tint and is damage free. It
wears its original bumpers which are nicely chromed and cleanly
mounted in place. The lights are all stock and work properly. The
car rides on its stock chrome Buick wheels with P225/70R15 Cooper
Cobra Radial T/A tires.
Powering the car is its original 455 ci V8 motor that runs well. It
all looks very stock under the hood and it is fitted with a 4
barrel carburetor with a 455-4 air cleaner. It is combined with a
Turbo 400 automatic transmission and stock rear end. The car was
ordered with power disc brakes, power steering, and air
conditioning. Part of the GS package for Century was not just
appearance upgrades but also an upgraded suspension.
The interior of the car features a combination of matching Red and
White upholstery. It has dual high back bucket seats up front with
a bench in the rear. Between them runs the original center console
with a horseshoe shifter and additional storage section with wood
trim. The dash has the original layout with all of the stock
gauges, knobs, switches, and Buick radio. In front of the driver is
the original Red 3 spoke Buick steering wheel. The trunk pan is all
solid and it houses a spare and original jack.
Only 579 Century Gran Sport 455's were produced making it quite the
rare car. It runs/drives great so check it out while it is still
available. It also comes with its original window sticker.
Take it home for the very reasonable $23,000.00!
