Excellent Provenance from New, Wonderful restored condition by UK
marque specialists.
The Series 1-2 examples are considered by many to be the most
beautiful of the DB4 range due to its Egg Crate Front Grille,
Larger Front Bonnet Scoop and Straight Rear Cathedral Tail-lights
all part of the original Touring of Milan design.
This DB4 was original sold in the UK and with Aston's home market.
Early history is unknown. Found in the early 2000's by UK Aston
enthusiast collector as a barn find and missing, its original
engine and gearbox, it was entrusted to well-known and respected UK
Aston marque specialist, Nicholas Mee and Company Ltd.
Having spoken with Nick Mee recently, he remembered this DB4
fondly, stating it was entrusted to his firm for complete concours
quality restoration with bespoke bodywork in the form of the
1980's-90's Richard Williams DB4 Lightweight racers, but in street
car form and suitable for touring.
Nicholas Mee and Company sourced an engine and gearbox. The engine
was sent to R.S. Williams for complete rebuild to 4.2 liter fast
road specifications, and thus produces 325 plus horsepower. The
gearbox and differential were thoroughly rebuilt by Nick Mee and
Co. The body was refinished to concours standard by Brooklands as
was the complete interior and trim. Assembled in a fastidious
fashion by Nick and Co., the result is not less than concours
level.
This DB4 is a superb road car, suitable for concours showing and
has had only the best of the best of the UK's restoration
specialists bestow themselves upon it. The result is nothing less
than spectacular.
On its recent road test, this DB4 hot rod performed flawlessly and
without disappointment. Extremely visceral with DB4 RSW Lightweight
with a side order of DB4 GT is how we describe to the look as well
as the driving style of this DB4.
Available for purchase, this DB4 is not the norm, it cannot be
duplicated at todays cost of donor DB4 and restoration for our
asking price, once again, it is superb in every way and turnkey and
ready for vintage tours, rallies as well as show.
