Gorgeous body off frame restoration! Known as the "Hot Rod" Buick.
The Century has the same smaller body as the lower priced Special
and the higher horsepower Roadmaster engine.
EXTERIOR: Very handsome looking car! You see 55 Chevys, when's the
last time you've seen a 55 Buick? The body is absolutely straight,
clean and rust free. It's painted real high gloss Cherokee red. At
the time of restoration all the chrome and trim were restored or
replaced. The fourth porthole designates it has the Roadmaster
engine under the hood. The black power convertible top was all
restored. It sits proud on a set of 40 spoke Kelsey Hayes wire
wheels with reproduction white wall tires.
INTERIOR: Great looking matching red interior with glove soft
genuine leather upholstery. The metal trim has been painted smooth
and glossy. The instrument panel, gauges, knobs, steering wheel all
look great. Seat belts have been added in front.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It's restored to factory new condition. It has
the Roadmaster Fireball V8 with it's stock components including the
valve covers, air cleaner and stickers. It features power steering
and power brakes. All the components look clean and proper. It has
a reproduction battery. All the metal surfaces are painted very
neatly. The wiring looks like it's replaced.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The trunk compartment is one of the nicer ones
I've seen. It has a complete padded liner kit in excellent shape.
There's a fifth matching wire wheel with the spinner and white wall
tire. It also has a jack assembly. Under the trunk lid and the jamb
are painted slick. The weatherstrip and well liner were
replaced.
UNDERSIDE: The body was off of the frame for restoration. The
underbody is immaculate metal that's been prepped and painted the
body color. The chassis is painted black. The steering and
suspension have been completely rebuilt. The brakes were rebuilt
and have a power brake booster under the car. It has a single
exhaust with a glass pack style muffler. The fuel system was
replaced. Looking up at the motor is very clean, so is the Dynoflow
automatic transmission. The drive shaft and the rear end look like
they've been restored.
SERVICE: We inspected the car and ended up changing the oil and
filter, rebuilt the wiper motor and replaced the switch, tightened
the visors, replaced exhaust and intake gaskets.
This is a beautiful, classy car. You're paying for the restoration,
the car is free!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to
assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are
answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video
that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are
displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an
appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment
there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car,
your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year
membership.
