For Sale: 1965 Mercury Comet in Lavergne, Tennessee

Vehicle Description

This could be the most exciting, high-quality, Pro-Touring build on a Mercury we have ever seen. Starting with a solid original 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente, this build is a one-of-a-kind creation that is simply stunning. Under the custom hood that features hood scoops from a 1973 Dodge Challenger, is a tricked-out big block 572 Chevrolet Performance Products engine, aluminum heads and intake.

Built for show as much as go, the engine bay is highly detailed with glossy black paint and full of polished, chromed and billet accessories as well as a Wizard Cooling radiator and long-tube headers. Power to the rear wheels is shifted through a 5-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter, scatter-shield bell-housing and drive shaft loop. The rear Martz suspension system features a heavy-duty 3:50 posi-traction Ford 9-inch differential with a 4-link, coil overs and a Panhard bar. Front suspension is a Martz Mustang ll-style power assisted rack & pinon. Additionally, this Comet Caliente has a fully boxed 2x3 frame with frame connectors and a custom gas tank. Stopping power is provided by Wilwood discs on all four corners with a Hydroboost power brake system.
